Getting a Comfortable Sleep

People always ask: How far away should your phone be when you sleep?

The answer is "No phones before sleep, place it as far as you can"

For most people, this is actually pretty hard to achieve. With all the social media, Netflix, and all kinds of apps and games, it’s hard not to use your phone before you sleep. Studies have shown that exposing oneself to blue lights coming from phones and PC, do influence our brains to convince them that it’s still not nighttime yet.

However, the best advice is to lower your screen light and try to cut down the time you spend on your phone before you go to bed. Try to do some soft reading, or perhaps have a nice warm shower would for sure be a better choice than staring at your screen.

Bedroom Color for Sleep

Color psychology is not only used in restaurants but also really useful in home decoration. Think about this, normally we spend one-third of our life sleeping. This means that the color of your room is the first thing and the last thing you see every day and night. Different color do affects how people feels.

According to Edinburgh Sleep Center, our eyes are more sensitive to the color Blue. While blue is usually associated with calmness, it could help you relax and lower your heart rate. Meanwhile, light yellow is another great choice for sleep. It helps you to relax and make you feel energetic every morning when the sunlight peaked in.

Other colors such as warm white, light gray and yellow are all comfortable colors that might help you sleep well and better at night.

Best Temperature to Sleep

As summer is getting hotter and hotter, while winter is getting colder and colder. If the temperature is too hot or too cold, it’s hard to fall asleep. Research shown that around 65° to 72°F (18° to 22°C) is the best temperature to get a good night sleep. Relying on air-conditioner and heater is a one way to set to the ideal temperature for you.

On the other hand, using heating pads during winter time is also an effective way to keep you warm. Especially during winter time, a lot of women suffer from cold hands and feet. Heating pads would definitely be a great companion during night time.

Noises like fan, wind, rain, or even waves are all great natural noises that could help us to sleep. Classical music or soft piano is also a great choice. This would help your brain to focus less on the external sounds like traffic, barking dogs or even noise neighbors.

Best Scent for Sleep

People say that memories triggered by smell are more emotional than by sight or sound. Scent triggers our body and mind in ways we never know. Nice smell eases stress and helps you relax. It could even put you to sleep easily.

Lavender is one of the most well known scent that could cure insomnia, anxiety, or even depression. Jasmine could also help treat headache, relieve stress, and might be able to bring sweet dreams.
