Wellcare-manufacture

Wellcare is a reputed manufacturer of bedding and sleep aid products, the most popular one being the electric blanket. The Electric blanket category includes both electric underblankets and overblankets. As the consumer needs for innovative sleep technology increases, electric overblankets will be one of the most important products for Wellcare. By introducing extensive features and functions to our products, Wellcare has become one of the leading makers of electric blankets.

Wellcare is looking for great partners who can bring our top-quality products to Europe. We partner with importers who not only help bring products to retailers on a larger scale but who recognise the true value we serve to customers.

If you own a company based in Europe and are interested in importing flexible heating products, you can learn more about Wellcare in this article. We’ll cover how we design and manufacture our products, and how we work with importers to serve our market and customers.

Why should you choose Wellcare?

Wellcare believes in its core value: warmth from the heart. It means the company develops every product with utmost love and care. Our team invests both professionalism and heart in every step of creating the product so that users feel the love and care when they use it.

Feedback is essential to the company’s process. We ask our employees and their families to provide feedback on our items so we can ensure each product is the best version it can be. Every team member, from design to manufacturing, puts an equal amount of effort to develop a well-rounded product.

All about the Wellcare company

Two sisters named Jessica and Cindy Wu founded Wellcare in 1995. Their first product was the “Rollable comfort body massage mat” which was priced at USD 90 and was their first step to entering the European market. The company then started making more kinds of comfort products and gradually won their place in the business world.

In 2016, Wellcare came up with a new, innovative technology called the 4D DWF (Dynamic Warmth Flow) technology, made to relieve users of the stuffiness caused by traditional blankets and heating pads.

Our products have evolved from 1995 to the present. Today, Wellcare specializes in electric blankets, heating pads, heating cushions and portable heating products. With each product design, our expert research team strives to serve improved quality and innovative solutions, making the products easier and more comfortable for everyday use. We make sure to deliver the best for our customers with our unique technology.

Wellcare is one of the industry leaders when it comes to the electric blanket. We do our best to support distributors with newer ways of expanding their business and understanding the preferences and needs of customers.

We have been in the business for more than two decades, working hard to develop heat products since 1997 and focused on staying on the road since 2004. We are committed to constant improvement. When faced with a complicated problem, we believe in breaking it down into smaller obstacles and addressing each one. Our best solutions were accomplished this way.

Our company staff work consistently hard and strive to deliver only the best product style, quality, detailing and appearance. Our extensive and intricate research process makes our products, particularly our electric blankets, safer and more environmentally-friendly so that more people can use them with fewer issues.

Our research and development process

Wellcare has always thrived on innovation and meticulous attention to detail. We designed the electric blanket with carefully selected fabrics, using materials that are eco-friendly but also comfortable to the skin.

We spent a rigorous amount of time on our 4D DWF (Dynamic Warmth Flow) technology, spanning around five years of production and innovation. The resulting 4D DWF technology has become an essential element associated with safety and comfort.

We understood how heat has helped people to cook, find shelter and provide comfort throughout history. We also learned how most traditional electric underblankets can overheat from overnight use, creating discomfort while you sleep.

Wellcare’s 4D DWF technology helps avoid this. We took advantage of our immense understanding of heat technology and incorporated it into our electric underblankets, adding safety functionalities so users have less to worry about.

Our electric underblankets are covered with air-releasing holes and made with eco-friendly fabrics. The design sustains the flow and release of heat, creating a four-dimensional effect so that heat circulates all around your body as you sleep.

Wellcare’s electric underblanket perfects the goal of comforting the user and providing warmth, with fewer compromises in safety.

In summary, Wellcare focuses on the pain points of the customers, so that we can understand their needs.

For example, conventional electric underblankets overheat due to an imbalance in temperature, causing discomfort, sweating and stuffiness. The Wellcare team researched airflow and heating extensively, to create the 4D DWF technology that makes our electric underblankets stand out.

We held continuous testing with numerous prototypes. After many years of hard work and dedicated research, Wellcare created the most efficient, comfortable and user-centred electric underblanket available on the market.

Initial stages of the electric underblanket

The company initially struggled while testing the 4D DWF technology. We encountered problems like uneven temperature and partial overheating, causing sweating and discomfort for users. We consulted with a professor who helped us by adding air-releasing holes into the fabric.

We still faced more challenges after that, including a problem with the electricity, causing the technology’s development to be put on hold. After a year or two, one of the founders tried the product again and said she felt hot air releasing from the surface of the blanket that she was lying on. The research team confirmed this, then resumed product testing for two consecutive winters before taking it back to the consulting professor for further research.

Product development of the electric underblanket

Wellcare designed a special machine to assist with all the problems we encountered. The founders motivated and led the team to develop the 4D DWF technology, conduct early experiments to make prototypes, establish experimental models and undergo continuous testing and modification. With the assistance of external resources, we were able to create technology that was the first of its kind.

It was extremely fulfilling work that delivered great results, served customers’ wants and needs, and earned the company a good reputation.

Our manufacturing process

Wellcare’s manufacturing follows the ISO 14000 standards. While it does not guarantee flawless products every time, we follow the standards in every detail and execution to maintain product stability and quality.

We maintain good relationships with our importers and ensure they have a good relationship with their suppliers. Wellcare teams and partners visit the factories to observe firsthand the stability and quality of the materials.

We perform high-quality testing for hazardous substances on our materials, using the Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX, a worldwide certification for testing raw materials. We also control material quality by evaluating supplier risk level and by tracing every material in batches. We have a standard process that we revisit, review and correct if there are any problems.

In recent years, there are specialized classes for suppliers to learn environmental trends, the latest laws and more. We invite experts to teach these classes and require supplier representatives to participate, ensuring everyone we work with is quality-oriented.

Lastly, we pay attention to every detail in our process. For example, we have a standard “space gap” specification in our sewn workmanship. Since we combine innovative technology with high-quality, handmade process, we are mindful of any contamination that might take place. So we’ve designed specifications like these to prevent and reduce any risk of harm to our factory employees.

This is just one example of the many steps we’ve taken to observe the highest standards of manufacturing quality.

Wellcare conducts its manufacturing process in an area that is appropriate, clean, and safe for the workers. We have the critical process validated to ensure the consistency and quality of the product.

Our expert team is highly trained to carry out our documented procedures. Instructions are written in unambiguous language that employees can clearly and easily understand. Any changes made and added to the product throughout the process are recorded and evaluated.

The records are maintained with full detail. They show the complete history of the manufacturing process followed for each batch of products. We also record what steps we took to minimise any risk to the product quality during distribution.

There is a rigorous process of double-checking the product before being validated for quality. When a complaint is received, the quality defects are investigated and measures are taken to prevent it from happening again with any other products. Wellcare follows the steps PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Action) and we approach our processes with seriousness and consistency.

We follow very efficient manufacturing processes and use only the best materials to construct and design each product. By maintaining a worthwhile and effective process, Wellcare can focus and follow through on delivering the best to all the clients and customers.

Quality check and assurance

Every product and material, be it semi-finished or fully completed, goes through at least 250 processes and tests. Our experts know the features and possible flaws of every product and make sure we’re distributing only our best.

Quality is ensured with each product, down to its hidden parts or functions. We demonstrate all our products for our suppliers and importers, to assure them that the products are fully functional and capable.

The air-releasing holes on the surface of the electric underblankets, for example, are tested by using different methods. We check for any damage that may be caused by washing machines, users rolling the blanket, or overheating damage. Both mechanical and sampling tests are done to ensure the endurance and consistency of Wellcare blankets.

The entire process of manufacturing and developing the product is a rigorous one. We take a systematic approach, involving study and research done by experts. We do this to stay consistent with the company’s intent: to deliver products with the best look and quality.

Wellcare’s processes are not necessarily unique or extraordinary. We simply broke down the complicated process, explained and perfected each step to ultimately create the best product for our consumers. We want to let the product quality speak on behalf of our brand. Our objective is simply to deliver excellent products consistently, and to fulfil the concept of "care around you".

Wellcare pays great attention and never compromises the quality of products, even with repetitive processes. The electric underblanket was designed so carefully so it could fulfil the customer’s needs for warmth, relaxation and comfort. We believe that people need a solution to the discomfort of cold winters, and we wanted to provide the ultimate comfort. The electric underblanket is made out of environment-friendly fabrics and is great for stress relief.

Whether the user is an elder, someone with a physical muscle strain, someone in mental distress, or someone simply sensitive to the cold, Wellcare delivers a blanket made of warmth and care.
