Medica 2019 event

Would you like to eat peanut butter sandwiches at lunch all year long in exchange for a good night's sleep? According to a fun survey by《New York Post》, Americans are willing to give up things beyond your imagination just to sleep well every day.

One in five Americans would give up sex for good sleep, 26% would shave their head, 34% would quit drinking, even 14% said they would go to jail for a week. But is it really necessary to sacrifice so much to get a good night sleep?

Everyone wants to sleep as well as a baby, but due of busy work and stress, we constantly find ourselves living in a mess. Getting enough sleep is even more of a challenge. In order to help more people get a comfortable product experience, Wellcare wanted to learn more about people ’s sleeping experience. This year at the Medica 2019 Hall 6-K50a booth, we prepared a “Sleep Quality” bingo game, inviting visitors to participate and share their sleep experience.

When you answer three questions and form a line, you will get a ring cushion. If you form two lines, you will have the chance to participate in the prize draw and bring a Wellcare product home!

Wellcare Activity: Sleep Quality Bingo Game

A total of 46 visitors enthusiastically participated in the Sleep Quality Bingo Game. We designed 9 image tags with questions behind them. Visitors are free to choose the image they like and answer the questions behind it.

One of our questions was “What do you usually do 1 hour to 30 minutes before bed?” 40% chose listening to music, 25% chose “being away from cell phones and computers” and “plan tomorrow's schedule”, 10% chose “read a book”.

Sleep Quality Bingo Game

A man told us that although he would silence his mobile device before going to bed, if he sees the message from work, he would still reply. This bad habit ultimately led to sleeping late.

Another lady jokingly said she likes to watch TV and use her mobile phone before going to bed. She wonders why there’s not an option for that?

We told her using digital products and watching TV before bedtime is not a good idea. This is because blue lights from the screens will disturb your sleep. Therefore, we do not encourage people to use electronic gadgets before bedtime.

Other questions such as “What do you usually do when you can't sleep?” 79% of the participants chose the answer “take a deep breath and relax”.

Most visitors agree that taking a deep breath or stretch their muscles can help them relax and fall asleep. But most of the time, people forget these 2 simple exercises may help them sleep better. Many people believe by developing a sleeping ritual, you will be able to get a better night of sleep.

New call-to-action

Getting cold hands and feet is a common occurrence

they or their family members had cold hands and feet

According to Winston Sequeira, MD, a rheumatologist at Rush, up to 15 percent of women report having cold hands. We also asked visitors at our Sleep Quality Bingo, “Do you or your family member have cold hands and feet in winter?”

Nearly 70% of the visitors who answered this question mentioned that they or their family members had cold hands and feet, and women are more likely to have cold extremities than men. A young German girl told us that her mother, her sister and herself all share the same problem, so keeping warm is very important for them.

Another 35-year-old German man said that he doesn’t have cold extremities, but his wife does. So, he always tries to keep his wife warm with a blanket in order to help her sleep well at night.

According to a report posted by the Footscientific, women are nine times more likely to have cold extremities than men. People often have trouble sleeping due to cold feet, so how can we improve this problem? If you are more sensitive to coldness, here are some ways that might help you feel better.

1.Keep warm

You can wear gloves and thick socks to keep yourself warm. It’s also important to wear a hat and a scarf. According to the research, you can still lose 50% of your body heat in cold weather if your head isn’t covered. Keep your head and neck warm can help improve blood circulation in your body and keep your warm.

2.Take an omega-3 supplement

Fish, olive oil, avocado, nuts, and flax seeds are all rich in Omega-3. Omega-3 provides protection, improves your body and ultimately helps to keep you warm.

3.Exercise Regularly

Exercising regularly is a great way to improve blood circulation and help you avoid cold hands and feet. Running and walking are both excellent forms of exercise. You can have a healthy body by spending half an hour doing exercise every day.

4.Don't Smoke

Smoking can be a cause for having cold feet and poor blood circulation in your body. Research shows that smoking a cigarette can reduce the blood flow by approximately 50%.

5.Take a hot bath or a foot bath

It is said that foot is our second heart. Hot water can help lower blood pressure and improve cold hands and feet. Soaking yourself for an hour in a hot bath before going to sleep can help relief stress and sleep well.

6.Use foot warmer or electric underblankets

Office workers and people with cold hands or feet can use the foot warmer. Let the warmth flow help warm your feet and reduce the discomfort of sitting or standing for too long. According to a study from Sweden, keep your feet warm helps you fall asleep faster.

Wellcare’s Electric underblanket with foot zone brings you comfort, warmth and breathability through innovative technology! It lets you sleep through the night with ultimate comfort.
