Naturcare Sound Relaxation: Dealing with Tinnitus

Dec 13, 2022 10:00:00 AM / by Wellcare

Shane has been dealing with tinnitus for the past couple of months after he went swimming with his friends at a public pool one day. Though the pool was clean and Shane has strict discipline over his hygiene, water stuck deep inside his ear during that afternoon. He thought he had gotten all the water out of his ear, but hours later in bed, it sounded like water had clogged his ear again. His attempts to ignore it were futile as it reached the point where his right ear sounded like he was hearing everything as if it were underwater.

Shane started noticing a high-frequency sound in his ear, almost like a dog whistle. Sometimes it would get very loud, to the point where he can't hear anything, then go back to normal. Over time, the sound started to change to a loud buzzing, a sound of static over his daily activities. Sometimes, he even finds that he completely forgets about the ringing sound.

However, as night comes, everything changes. Shane tries to leave his ceiling fan and TV on, and yet the ringing sound is unbearable. He has a difficult time achieving deeper sleep, only able to nap at most, reaching the point of exhaustion.

How stress manifests in our body

There are several ways that stress can present itself. It's critical to mentally check in with yourself to determine whether you are carrying any tension. Even though we don't always notice it, the stress from our regular responsibilities can cause our minds to become cluttered. It can be compared to spring cleaning. We must clear out our negative ideas and tension from our bodies. Your physical and emotional well-being are too vital to be put in danger through negative thoughts or excessive stress. Make sure to take care of your mental health.

Tinnitus is more likely to occur if you suffer from depression. According to a verified study, patients with tinnitus have a 33% rate of depression. So, take care of your mental health and don't overstress yourself; instead, try relaxing your mind and body to feel better.

Health Concerns

Stress is a major cause of many health problems. You might not be aware that a specific problem you go to the doctor for has a stress-related cause. Stress can have an effect on our bodies and lead us to believe we are ill. There is a chance that the immune system will overreact to signals of fight or flight. When we are faced with stressful circumstances, these signals are engaged. Some instances of the fight or flight reaction occur when we are in a scenario that necessitates confrontation or when our pulse rate increases. In these situations, our brain tells us to run or to say and "fight." Exposure to fight-or-flight situations on a regular basis can lead to health issues like poor sleep quality, high blood pressure and heart disease.

Long-term stress is also linked to a higher risk of colds and infections, an upset stomach or constipation, aches and pains, rashes, and headaches. For these issues, seeing a doctor is imperative, but it's also critical that you are in tune with your body to understand what transpires to it under stress.

In a test trial, scientists divided tinnitus patients into two groups: men and women. As a result, women are typically more stressed than males, and they are more bothered by tinnitus.

Drowsiness and Tiredness

One of the earliest observable symptoms of stress is fatigue. Your body will alert you if you are stressed out or overburdened. Stress obscure our judgment and makes it difficult for us to focus. Sleep gets more and more appealing. Your eyes can seem bloodshot or be difficult to keep open. It's vital to pay attention to your body's needs if it's telling you that you need to relax. Fatigue can lead to poor work performance or missing out on social interactions with friends. No matter how many tasks you have to complete, your health should always come first. Sleep is one of our fundamental human requirements.

Sleep Concerns

When there are tasks to be completed, sleep is put on hold. Stress causes our minds to continually churn and ruminate on many issues. Another factor that influences the duration and quality of sleep is insomnia. The medical name for being unable to get to sleep for a variety of reasons is insomnia. Insomnia might result from particular stressful circumstances. The outcome could be that you wake up feeling drained or perhaps more so.

If you have sleep apnea, you are more likely to develop tinnitus. Here is a case study that supports this theory and
demonstrates its statistical significance in this test.

Tinnitus relief using sound relaxation techniques

Being "cured" appears like a far-off reality or an impossible goal for persons with tonal tinnitus, the most prevalent type of tinnitus. You don't have to experience frustration all the time, though. Since sound therapy and tinnitus maskers have developed to the point that almost everyone may use them, silence is once more within your grasp.

Tinnitus maskers are tiny white noise generators that try to "drown out" or outweigh the internal sounds of your tinnitus. They do not, however, work in the same way that playing music or watching a movie drowns out background noise. To reduce the noise in your ears, they use specialized noises and tones.

You can concentrate on the melody, dialogue, or plot of a piece of media whether you watch or listen to music or television. Tinnitus maskers place both your tinnitus and the relaxing sound in the background. This makes it simpler for you to concentrate, nod off, or unwind mentally.

Tinnitus maskers might be compared to ceiling lights. Your tinnitus is like a lamp in a dark environment. It is noticeable from where you are seated, bright, and could bother you. The overhead light is another sound that tinnitus maskers offer. Its bigger size and ease of adaptation allow you to disregard both lights while also dimming the lamp's illumination.

One interesting study - hyperacusis in children: Edinburgh experiences - shows the factors associated with hyperacusis in children and identify possible treatments for paediatric hyperacusis.

The results show that Wellcare Naturcare Relaxation, as a behavioural therapy intervention, has a very high success rate in children with hyperacusis.

An insight into what the customers think

The Perfectionist Musician

The sound of the piano, the sound of people talking, the sound of the vacuum cleaner on the floor, the sound of the motor of the kitchen conditioner, the sound of a dog barking nearby, a coworker tapping quickly on the keyboard, the neighbor using their leafblower, playing guitar next door, etc. Everywhere, whether at work, school, and home, one can hear these noises. loaded with grating, anxious, and even frantic noises. anxiety, tension, and stress. It's challenging for people to concentrate on the task that has to be done.

For instance, Steve has experienced ringing and hyperacusis in his right ear since the beginning of 2022. Every time he listens to music, it seems as though the mix has been skewed to the left, and any cymbals or high frequencies produce a screeching tone in the right ear that obscures the original sound.

He used to listen to music all day, every day, before the ringing. Since he was nine years old, he has been a guitarist and concertgoer. He has made it his life's work and spends the most of his time at it.

Even while his tinnitus doesn't constantly pain, the highly strange ringing spikes that would persist for 30 seconds before returning to baseline had destroyed the activity he most enjoyed. Thanks to Naturcare, however, he's been learning how to manage that pain better at night. Though he just started using it, the ambient noises help him ease back into his guitar practices with less pain.

The Anxious Worker

David enjoys taking pictures as a hobby. He ascends the peak and lowers to the water in an effort to mentally capture the beauty. He uses his acute observational skills and distinctive viewpoint to render landscapes in a variety of ways. International amateur tournaments are frequently won by him.

His hearing was severely damaged after delivery due to his mother's German measles infection during pregnancy, resulting in hearing loss. He tried to ignore it during the day, always claiming that it wasn't always loud, but it was usually accompanied by an unnerving high-pitched sound.  He seemed to have swarms of insects in his ears at night, unable to ignore them, making him agitated and disturbing his sleep. Because of that, he would get anxious and lash out at his friends and family who try to offer comfort. In a few months' time, no one tried to hang out with him, in fear of getting yelled at.

When David's doctor recommended him to try sound relaxing techniques and technologies, he realized that this can be a way for him to spend time with friends and family dinner parties and get used to conversations as a background noise to fill in for the buzzing in his ears. Reframing his tinnitus in a new light helped him reconnect with people.

Patient diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or mild autism

Tom has been diagnosed with mild autism and knows that he has been exhibiting hearing problems as a child. When he was younger, his primary caregivers noticed that his response time was slower. When they were in a quiet room, he would hide in a corner, pace back and forth, and shake or grab his head. In more stressful situations, he would even hit his head against the wall.

His caregivers at the time couldn't properly protect him from bruises even though his parents renovated his room with soft textured sponge-like walls. Bruises are clearly visible on him, one can feel his anxiety, restlessness, and pain. Even close family members may be unable to communicate smoothly or understand his world.

Today, Tom manages to get by with sound relaxation machines like Naturcare. It may have taken many years for him and his family to find ways to manage the pain, but it's never too late to make new discoveries.

This may or may not be occurring in your life right now, but it is affecting different people of all ages and health groups.
